According to Afrovibes, an Enugu Magistrate court ordered a lady to pay a man N150,000 as compensation for failing to appear after receiving N3000 for transportation.
Twitter user Nupe lawyer shared news of a significant court ruling in Enugu. Reportedly, a lady was ordered to pay damages of N150k after accepting N3k for transportation costs to meet a man but then deactivating her phone and refusing to meet him.
Infuriated, the reporter sued her for deceit. The magistrate found her actions deceitful and ordered her to pay N150k as a deterrent to others engaging in similar behavior.
Charges imposed on her:
1. EMOTIONAL DAMAGE/ ABUSE
2. BREACH OF CONTRACT AGREEMENT
